Architect Peter Zauner has given the training facility more than just a unique appearance. Solar modules from Ertex Solar in the facade supply the electricity that the building's modern energy concept is based on.
The glass facade frames two inner cores consisting of solar modules. Ertex Solar manufactured a total of 118 bespoke modules. To ensure that they fit well into the glass frame, the module manufacturer from Amstetten in Lower Austria had to produce 32 different sizes. And the resulting facade shows that the effort was worth it. The new Experience Centre is to become a showcase for sustainability and will be the fourth international training facility to complete the new Audi campus at Munich Airport. (mfo)
