Solar modules:

Module output of Sonnenkraft’s plant almost doubled

The annual output of the plant in St. Veit will increase from 180 megawatts to 340 megawatts. Every day 3,000 modules will come off the production line. In addition, Sonnenkraft will manufacture double-glass modules in the future. The investment was supported by the EU with 1.36 million euros as part of the Green Deal.

With the new line, expanded storage space became necessary. For this purpose, Sonnenkraft has built a large solar roof, as weather protection for the stored goods and to generate solar power. The roof is equipped with 800 bifacial solar modules. Sonnenkraft also wants to expand its product range - with visually attractive modules to appeal to facade builders, glass processing companies, architects and planners.

Solar power from the building envelope

After all, the building envelope offers many opportunities to harness the power of the sun. "We offer innovative solutions so that, first and foremost, already sealed surfaces can be used to generate photovoltaic electricity," says Peter Prasser, Managing Director of Sonnenkraft. "With our double glass modules, halls, terraces, fences, e-carports or solar facades can be equipped with solar modules that not only look good, but also deliver energy and save costs." (HS/mfo)
