Technologically, the Sunroof’s solution consists of three layers: The first layer ensures that the roof is fully waterproof. The middle layer consists of a wooden slat construction. And the top layer consists of glass-glass photovoltaic modules, which convert sunlight into electricity and also provide the water-carrying layer.

According to the manufacturer, the efficiency of the Sunroof technology is on a par with that of a conventional rooftop photovoltaic system: 5.4 square metres of roof surface are needed for one kilowatt. Sunroof is also pursuing the goal of creating a complete ecosystem of solutions. The result is an intelligent energy management system from the solar roof to the app for energy monitoring and management. (mfo)
