Across Europe, more than 600,000 private households and companies use photovoltaic systems from the Dresden-based company to generate their own clean solar power. In 2025, Solarwatt then wants to reach the limit of one million installed systems.
Solarwatt is a pioneer in the solar industry and has been active in Germany and Europe for 30 years. Meanwhile, 800 people work for the Dresden-based company. In addition, Solarwatt has built up a network of 8,500 craftsmen who sell and install Solarwatt products in more than ten European countries - including France, Great Britain, Scandinavia and Spain. This year alone, the Dresden-based company will sell around 2.5 million modules across Europe.
Pioneer of glass-glass technology
Adrian and Karen Firth's photovoltaic system in Suffolk consists of 18 glass-glass solar modules with a total output of 7.2 kilowatt-peak. In double-glass modules, the solar cells are enclosed on the front as well as the back by a robust glass pane, making them much more durable than conventional glass-foil modules.

Solarwatt has been producing glass-glass modules since 1998, making it a pioneer in the industry. The company provides a 30-year product and performance warranty on double glass modules. "We are very proud of the fact that we launched glass-glass technology 25 years ago and have since been able to develop it into an industry standard," explains Solarwatt CEO Detlef Neuhaus.
Did you miss that? More solar factories and more production in Europe and Germany
The ten millionth Solarwatt module was installed by Premium Partner Solarhome. For the Firth family, the main criterion for purchasing a solar system was the desire to have a reliable, future-proof energy system that would maximize the efficiency of their personal energy consumption. The entire process went smoothly from start to finish, as the Firth family confirms, "Solarhome was very thoughtful throughout the process and we were surprised at how quickly the installation went. Everything was completed within a day." (hcn)
