The colloboration covers shared use of research findings and cooperation on further development of existing single-phase and three-phase devices, battery inverters and complementary products.
Synergie effects
While Bavaria-based Steca Elektronik GmbH focuses on single-phase inverters and solutions for energy storage systems, the product range of Kostal Industrie Elektrik GmbH, based in North Rhine-Westphalia, includes both product segments and the company will concentrate predominantly on three-phase systems for private and commercial customers.
Larger product portfolio with shorter lead times
Development of the cooperation will benefit through this smart division of work from the individual strengths of both partners, the companies say. Ultimately, this will result in a larger product portfolio for both companies, which can also be made available to the market with much shorter lead times. “It’s a win-win-win situation benefiting not just the two companies but also their customers”, Michael Voigtsberger, Managing Director of Steca says. “As a specialist in power electronics, we concentrate on our strengths. We take a targeted approach to deploying resources in order to perfectly meet the needs of the market.”
Dr. Manfred Gerhard, who became the new Managing Director of Kostal Industrie Elektrik on 01.07.2017, also sees the cooperation agreement as the logical continuation of the collaboration that already exists between Kostal and Steca: “After some time of successful, project-based development cooperations with Steca, this agreement underlines our shared goals of quickly providing our customers with a complete range of inverters and storage systems from one source and therefore assuming an even more competitive position on the market.” (HCN)
