The “PV2Float” project by RWE, Fraunhofer ISE and BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg is testing three floating PV systems (30 kW each) over three years. The research focuses on technical improvements, environmental impact and public acceptance. It is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action.

Romania: Longi and Solarpro cooperate on 174 MW solar park

Longi will supply PV modules for a 174 megawatt solar park that will be built by the Bulgarian based ECP contractor Solarpro. It is currently the largest of all existing or under-construction PV projects in Romania and is scheduled to go online in mid-2025.

Juwi is commissioning the largest American PV project in the history of the company in Colorado

The 180-megawatt solar park is expected to generate over 370 million kWh per year. It supplies the members of the cooperatively organized electricity trader Tri-State under two PPAs.

Denmark: 175 MW solar park of European Energy started operation

European Energy has commenced operations at Holsted Solar Park in Denmark with a capacity of 175 MW. However, the framework conditions for implementing large-scale solar projects are rather difficult and Denmark is at risk of missing its solar expansion targets by 2030.

Hungary: ABO Energy expands with solar parks

German-based ABO Energy has recently inaugurated and connected a 20-megawatt solar park in Hungary. The project, located near the city of Szarvas in the southeast of the country, is the largest project that ABO Energy has developed and built in Hungary to date.
