Covid-19:

Energy Storage Europe 2021 is cancelled

The organisers of Energy Storage Europe (ESE) have decided that the fair will not take place next year. Originally, the storage industry showcase was to take place in Düsseldorf from 16-18 March 2021. However, due to the continuing high numbers of corona infections in Europe, the prospect of holding the fair is no longer given.

Current pandemic development not foreseeable

The organiser also refers to the decision of the Minister Presidents of the Federal States and the Federal Government of 25 November 2020, according to which trade fairs can still not take place. "We have taken this decision due to the currently unforeseeable further development of the infection, the travel situation and the legal framework conditions," says Wolfram Diener, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf. "Our aim is to establish planning security and to avoid financial losses for our exhibitors," he says, explaining the decision.

Next ESE to take place in 2022

In the past weeks, they had worked with the partners to create a presence fair taking into account all safety and hygiene measures, says Diener. "Now we have reassessed the situation due to the pandemic situation," he explains. "Until the follow-up event, exhibitors and visitors can keep up to date on trends, industry news and new products via the online portal. This follow-up event will take place in spring 2022. Messe Düsseldorf will provide information on the exact date of the next ESE after coordinating with partners for next year's event. (su/mfo)
