The EL 4.0 is the now fourth generation of the patented AEM electrolyser, with a so-called anion exchange membrane, which the start-up has been developing since 2017. It is lighter, smaller and certifiable according to ISO 22734. The technology uses less expensive materials such as steel instead of titanium and combines the advantages of alkaline electrolysis with the flexibility and compactness of PEM electrolysis.

The standardised modules can be assembled for projects of any size - up to megawatt scale, where the Enapters AEM Multicore is then used on the basis of an identical stack technology. First deliveries are planned for the summer. (mfo)
