OFF-GRID Expo + Conference:

Conference and trade fair for self-sufficient and off-grid power supply solutions

A hybrid event is planned in December following the purely digital event in 2020 which attracted over 500 participants from 46 nations. In addition to the established themes of off-grid solar, wind and hydropower systems and a self-sufficient power supply, the experts will also discuss decentralized water supply and treatment for the first time.

The congress will take place in hybrid form to enable participants from countries with travel restrictions to attend. While on-site visitors can experience an exciting interactive program and a live trade fair, online participants can benefit from additional offers. In addition to a live stream of the conference, virtual business matchmaking among others will also be provided. In the run-up to the event, the TechDay on December 1 provides product and service training and conveys technical expertise among users to offer deeper insights into the sector.

Exhibitors and visitors are eagerly awaiting the return of face-to-face discussions

The conference program has been extended

In cooperation with the partner Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE), the conference and trade fair program will be expanded for the first time to include the focus topic "Off-Grid Water". The electricity and water supply technologies are technically interconnected in rural areas and form two important components to secure life and livelihoods in developing regions. Hygienic drinking water is the most important daily need for off-grid communities. During a panel discussion, experts will discuss how decentralized energy solutions can provide access to clean drinking water.

The new theme fits in perfectly with the basic orientation of the event and with the ambitious “Social Development Goals” set by the United Nations, and has a local connection with the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Augsburg. "The Augsburg water management system can be used as a model for so much specialist content and links historical events with current innovations in a compelling way, which will be presented at the trade fair," says Lorenz A. Rau, CEO of Messe Augsburg.

Other conference session topics will include sustainable and off-grid energy solutions for mining and local communities, energy storage in rural areas and a power supply for agriculture. "The OFF-GRID Expo + Conference is a great place to meet off-grid experts from around the world and learn about the latest trends in the sector. It is a great pleasure for us to be involved as conference and matchmaking partner for the event. We will be looking at new and innovative topics," says David Lecoque, CEO of ARE. (mfo)
