Opening such equipment is only permitted to the authorised customer service staff or certified partners of the manufacturer – and only power off mode.
Otherwise, the common lithium storage unit for residential buildings do not require separate ventilation or degassing. Also, no one has to check the liquid levels in the cells.
Do not stand in puddles of water
The only thing is to test if the wall hanging is still sufficiently stable and has not come loose over time. For ground-based systems, this measure is unnecessary. Of course, storage units – just like any other electrical equipment – should not stand in puddles of water.
For commercial storage systems, the battery cabinets are often placed in ventilated and refrigerated rooms in order to achieve optimum operating temperatures. In that case, ventilation or cooling should be checked and included in the maintenance. (HS)
