As soon as the prequalification with Swissgrid has been passed, Axpo will offer a newly built 1.25 megawatt storage unit from ADS-Tec Energy on the market for balancing energy on behalf of Rhiienergie. Due to its very short response times, the Graubünden facility is ideally suited for offering primary and secondary balancing energy to balance and support the electricity grid.
The battery storage facility, which is located on the site of the Vial substation in Domat, Ems, is also used for so-called peak shaving: Thanks to the lowering and flattening of peak loads with the help of the battery, the distribution grid can be relieved and used more efficiently.
