Italy is progressing toward its carbon neutrality target for 2050, aiming for 30% renewable energy in overall consumption and 55% in electricity generation by 2030. The country has made strides in recent years, reducing reliance on natural gas for electricity generation and accelerating the adoption of alternative energy sources, particularly renewables, to improve energy security and meet climate goals.

However, renewable sources such as solar and wind face challenges due to their variable power supply, which depends on light cycles and weather. Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) can help stabilise electric grids, allowing for a more consistent contribution of renewables to decarbonisation efforts.
Sungrow will host an event Power Up Your Future in Milan on 21 November. This event is expected to bring together over 150 representatives from government, academia, and the energy sector to discuss developments and challenges related to BESS deployment in Italy. The agenda will include discussions on market conditions, policies, and trends in energy storage, alongside presentations of case studies.

As part of the ESS Experience Day, Sungrow will also introduce its latest BESS offerings for the Italian market, including the PowerStack 200CS for commercial and industrial applications and PowerTitan 2.0 for utility-scale projects. These new liquid-cooled systems represent Sungrow’s efforts to provide solutions that address the specific demands of the Italian energy storage market. (mfo)
