The communication tests proved that the communication systems of Trina Storage’s Elementa 2 work reliably and consistently after installation, that faults are reported correctly and promptly and that the emergency shutdown protocols are fully functional. During start-up and shutdown, it was verified that the system responds to commands as planned and that the DC voltages and currents of the battery management system (BMS) are reported correctly.

The operational tests validated the charging/discharging performance. It was confirmed that the energy management system (EMS) and the power conversion system (PCS) respond precisely to standard operating commands. Finally, in the fault management category, safety aspects such as fire suppression systems (FSS), gas warning systems, door interlocking, power failure recovery and rack availability were tested. The system was subjected to several simulated faults as part of this test and reacted correctly in every case. (mfo)
