The French manufacturer Socomec is expanding its product range with the new Modulys XM UPS system for medium outputs. The system has an output of 50 kilowatts, which can be expanded to 250 or 600 kilowatts without increasing the floor space. In addition, 50 kilowatts of redundancy are possible in each case.

According to the manufacturer, the power modules can be easily exchanged during operation within two minutes. The software and the parameters are self-adjusting and the test run is also fully automatic. The static bypass and all other components can also be replaced via the front access, while the UPS system operates without interruption.

With a set of more than 25 prefabricated components, the system can be customised. The expected lifetime in a data centre environment is more than 25 years and only reduces to more than 20 years even under the worst conditions. (mfo)
