Innovative zinc battery stores electricity and produces hydrogen

The zinc-hydrogen storage system should be able to be produced at a tenth of the cost of lithium batteries and feed hydrogen into the energy cycle on demand, say Fraunhofer IZM researchers. Initial laboratory tests have been very successful.
