Uniper is shaping the energy transition with solar and wind power

-

The climate change and the recent global energy crises underscore the urgent need to restructure the energy industry. The demand for green electricity is growing in line with the energy transition, as industrial processes, heat generation and transportation are increasingly being electrified. To achieve both key objectives of attaining climate protection goals and becoming independent of fossil fuel imports, the share of renewable energies in gross electricity consumption needs to increase drastically across the globe.

New study:

Decentralised supply brings success in the energy transition

-

Secure total supply with solar and wind power plants is realistic and possible. When expanding, however, the plants should be installed close to the consumers. This increases acceptance and lowers costs.

Ingeteam chosen by Iberdrola to supply its largest battery storage system

-

Scottish Power Renewables, Iberdrola's subsidiary in the UK, has awarded Ingeteam the contract for the supply of the company's biggest ever lithium-ion battery storage system. The project will provide back-up for the UK's biggest on-shore wind farm at Whitelee near Glasgow. Its storage capacity will be 50 million Watt-hours, equivalent to the average hourly power consumption of 150,000 homes.
