At least 150 charging stations are to be in operation by the end of the year, the rest by February 2024. The Turkish market for electric vehicles is growing rapidly. According to current projections, the charging infrastructure in Turkey will increase by about 50 per cent by 2030. By that time, there will be up to two million electric vehicles on the country's roads.
Turkey: 2.5 million e-vehicles by 2033
"It is expected that there will be 2.5 million electric vehicles in our country in ten years," estimates Feridun Geçgel, Chairman of the Board of Astor Energy. In addition to the conversion to electric vehicles, the creation of infrastructure is also of great importance. Especially for DC charging stations for fast charging, an increase in installed electrical output is required. As part of the contract, Siemens will also provide back-end software for control and monitoring to ensure optimal operation.

With an output of up to 300 kilowatts, the Sicharge D DC fast charging station from Siemens reduces charging time to 15 to 25 minutes. The charging process is automatically adapted to the connected vehicles. The charging capacity can either be used completely for a single vehicle - or distributed among several vehicles as required. 99 per cent of all potential faults can be remedied online. In this way, time and cost factors for service teams on site are minimised. (nhp/mfo)
