In other words, it is not so visionary! Solar energy is gradually becoming mainstream in a positive sense. There are fewer and fewer people who dismiss solar energy as a crackpot idea. More and more installations are being built that can deliver energy at low prices that would have been unimaginable just a few years ago. And there are more and more promising concepts for storing the energy.
Still a long way to go
So we are seeing this vision gradually becoming reality, even though there is undeniably still a long way to go. But what I find really great and encouraging is the idea that we don't need to invent completely new technologies for 100 per cent supply, but are already able to achieve this with what we know today.

My thinking, naively, is that we just need to do what already possible, put it together sensibly and scale it up accordingly. And it is nice that we do not have to be visionaries so much as engineers and realists to get there. (mfo)
