Genera will take place over three full days from 21 to 23 February 2023 in the Spanish capital. It also offers an accompanying programme with, among other things, technical workshops and the so-called Innovation Gallery, which presents industry-relevant results from science and research.

At the 2022 fair, 256 exhibitors from 19 countries took part. The organisers expect more than 25,000 visitors this year, the fair will be held in two halls.

In Spain, the market for power purchase agreements (PPAs) is also already further along: Baywa r.e. is currently planning to install two new solar parks in southern Spain near Seville and Granada, which will be financed through PPAs with the company Velux.

The two plants, which will be connected to the grid in 2023 and 2024, will generate 167 gigawatt hours of green electricity annually. This is equivalent to the electricity consumption of about 45,000 European households. 80 per cent of the electricity generated will be supplied directly to Velux, the remaining share will be fed into the grid.
