"Both for our locations on the German home market and for our almost 60 branches in the European, American and Asian core markets, we are looking for a considerable number of qualified specialists and young professionals who want to work together with us on the consistent implementation of the energy transition," says Hartmut Brösamle of wpd.
"In addition to expanding project planning and strengthening the teams, we are planning to double the current 2.3 GW owned portfolio in the next three to four years," explains wpd board member Björn Nullmeyer.
Expansions happening in Germany and worldwide
Last year, wpd financed 22 projects in Germany with a capacity of 380 megawatts. Some of these are already under construction and will be connected to the grid by 2023. In the coming years, the team will work on a 4.5 GW project pipeline for wind and solar across Germany.

Internationally, the financing of the Swedish wind farm Stöllsäterberget was successfully concluded with KfW IPEX-Bank in August. The buyer of the "green" electricity is a large international tech company, with which a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) was concluded. "But we are also currently working flat out in France on the planning and realisation of a 2 GW pipeline." Among other things, the first solar projects have also been approved, Brösamle said.
1.5 gigawatts in North America
Overseas, the team is working on projects totalling 1.5 GW in North America, as well as the largest wind farm in South America with 233 megawatts in Chile alone. And the Asian markets are of course also growing massively. (mfo)
