R.Power enters Portuguese utility-scale solar market

The 8.4 MW project is the first Polish investment of this type in the country. As the company emphasizes, more R.Power projects in Portugal will be completed this year, and the total power of the solar power plants in the R.Power portfolio will reach 70 MW.

Nomad Electric responsible for operation and services

The photovoltaic farm, built near the historic city of Evora, will generate energy using over 15,000 bifacial photovoltaic modules. The project, which uses solar trackers, is located on an area of over 14 hectares. The energy efficiency of the farm will exceed 16 GWh of energy annually,

The energy produced by the farm will be sold under a PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) concluded with one of the leading European entities in the energy sector. The power plant was built by the Polish company Nomad Electric, and Nomad Electric Services is responsible for its operation and service.

Seven projects in Portugal

In the coming months, R.Power will complete the construction of more foreign photovoltaic farms as part of a larger strategy to internationalize the group's electricity production and diversify its activities outside Poland. The company currently employs 488 people across 7 EU countries and is implementing seven projects in Portugal. Additionally, they will begin construction of the first three PV farms in Romania, with plans to expand into Spain and Germany.

Portugal is one of the leaders in the renewable energy sector in Europe. In 2023, this country generated as much as 61% of electricity from RES, achieving the third result in Europe, and by 2030 it plans to increase this share to as much as 85%. (hcn)
