Brazil:

Sungrow signs contract to supply PV inverters to the Helio Valgas solar park

In addition to the aggressive targets for slashing carbon emissions signed in the Paris Agreement, the Brazilian market is optimistic about the profitability of investing in PV energy in the face of the crisis, especially with the Free Energy Market (PL 1917/15) already in the final approval stage.

Sungrow recently closed a 500-megawatt AC PV inverter solution supply contract with Mercury Renew, part of the Comerc Energia Group, specializing in the generation and management of renewable energy. Sungrow's SG3125HV-30 central inverter solutions will be supplied for the construction of the Helio Valgas solar park in Varzea da Palma, Minas Gerais, with capacity of 650 megawatts. The energy produced will be destined to meet large companies' demand in the free energy market, without state price regulation.

Compatible with bifacial modules and tracking systems

"Helio Valgas is the largest project in our portfolio, and when it becomes operational, it will annually inject more than 1,300 GWh of clean power into the SIN (National Interconnected System), contributing to the generation of income in the region and to the sustainable development of our country," says Mercury Renew's CEO, Pedro Fiuza.

Sungrow's SG3125HV-30 central inverter solution for 1500-volt DC systems comes with an efficiency of 99 per cent, making it ideal for utility-scale applications. They will be supplied with the complete medium-voltage solution SG6250HV-MV (Turnkey Solution), which integrates a medium voltage transformer, switchgear, and all automation into a 40-ft container; thus, significantly streamlining the transportation and O&M. The system is compatible with bifacial modules and tracking systems. (mfo)
