It was only two years ago that the newly established team at CCE Romania, a subsidiary of Austria based CCE Holding, began developing photovoltaic projects in Romania. Recently the first completed project Horia 1 was opened in the Arad region in northwestern Romania after almost one year of construction.

"We are delighted to be a very relevant player in the field of green energy in Romania and to bring our projects onto the grid as planned“, Jörg Menyesch and Martin Dürnberger, the company's two Co-CEOs said.
The plant with a nominal output of 40 MW was built on an area of 40 hectares. 75,249 PV modules were installed for the construction. The plant thus supplies around 17,000 households with renewable energy. The project was built by the EPC company SolarPro, which won the public tender. "Horia 1" is also part of the European Union's National Resilience and Renewal Program (PNRR) and was funded with almost three million euros.
Other plants shortly before start of construction
In the coming years, the Romanian national company of CCE Holding will produce almost half a million megawatt hours of green electricity - this roughly corresponds to the annual household electricity requirements of the Romanian city of Arad.

To achieve this goal, CCE Romania has already received both building permits and grid commitments for a number of projects. CCE plans to start construction on further projects in 2025. (hcn)
