The new solar farms, located in Tremês, Alhais and Elvas, have already been connected to the Portuguese power grid. Together, these installations will generate approximately 40 gigawatts of clean energy annually. R.Power plans to commission additional projects in Portugal later this year, increasing its operational solar portfolio in the country to approximately 35 megawatts.

The Tremês facility, situated in the Santarém region, utilizes fixed mounting structures, while the farms in Alhais (Pombal region) and Elvas (Alentejo region) are equipped with tracking systems that optimize sunlight capture throughout the day. In total, more than 40,000 solar panels have been installed across 45 hectares.

These investments are part of R.Power’s dynamic expansion in Europe, where the company is actively developing solar and wind energy projects in Poland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Romania and Germany. All three solar farms were constructed by Nomad Electric Services, which will also provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services.

Portugal is a European leader in renewable energy.
