The meteorological services provider Anemos has so far concentrated on wind power. But now the company will also develop a yield index for photovoltaics. This will soon be available on Anemos' wind information portal Awis. The yield index is important for operators, managers or asset managers to be able to estimate and keep track of the actual output and profits from the photovoltaic system.
Site-accurate time series developed
The service provider does not yet reveal what the yield index for solar plants will look like exactly. But it will certainly be based on the yield index for wind power, which Anemos has been offering for some time. This has now also undergone a few innovations. This is because Anemos has optimised the calculation of the yield data on request and developed new time series from its own wind atlases that are accurate to the location. For the calculation, the turbine type with power curve and the hub height can be selected individually for each wind turbine. The calculation is carried out in the Awis online portal within one minute. The zone size is 25 by 25 metres.
Free trial access available
Anemos also offers a free trail of the yield index. Interested parties can access the data via the Awis online portal, where, among other things, wind time series, preliminary estimates of wind and yield potential as well as wind power market values can be retrieved. (su/mfo)
