One objective of the power plant for which Trina Solar has provided the solar modules is to generate electricity that will allow turning desert areas including the Gobi into fertile land for growing the next generation of green energy. Linze county, in which the project is located, is in the central Hexi corridor and at the southern edge of the Badain Jaran Desert, which is abundant in solar thermal resources.

The total installed capacity of the project is 200 megawatts, covering an area of about 380 hectares. Upon completion, the power station is expected to generate 380 million kilowatt hours of green power a year. (mfo)
