Ethical Power breaks ground on Conrad’s first solar farm

Conrad Energy say they are the largest producer of flexible energy in the UK and Larport Solar Farm was the first solar farm project they’ve developed. Ethical Power, as an EPC contractor, completed the final due diligence on the project, including design optimization and engineering review.

The project area of 120 acres will cover the solar park and an extensive part of land dedicated to biodiversity enhancement, featuring natural grassland and wildflower meadows. The project is expected to deliver a significant biodiversity gain for the area over the course of its 40-year lifespan. Preliminary works have already commenced with Ethical Power’s civils arm (Ethical Power Utilities) already on site.

Power sold through a PPA

Larport Solar Farm is due to commission in 2024 and will generate approximately 44,000 megawatt hours annually. Conrad Energy has secured an offtake agreement for the green power generated on site through a power purchase agreement (PPA) with BNP Paribas.
