A critical success factor for BYD is the thriving partner network with more than 15,000 partners as well as the “BePartner” program for installers, which will also be further developed in 2023.
2022 was a challenging year in many respects. With new waves of the pandemic, economic challenges and political conflicts our global climate goals often had to take a back-seat in the news reports. The energy crisis however showed once more how important a wider application for renewable energies will be for both a stable energy supply and in order to reach global climate goals.
More than 250,000 BYD Battery-Box systems shipped in 2022
A key element for a wider utilization of renewable energy is without doubt the expansion of storage capacities and the implementation of flexible storage solutions. BloombergNEF for example expects the global energy storage market to grow 15-fold by 2030. And both at political and economic conferences, including the World Economic Forum, experts confirmed that achieving climate goals and renewable targets first requires solving the storage conundrum – which sees us needing more storage capacities than can be produced currently.

Despite the challenging circumstances BYD was able to ship more than 250,000 BYD Battery-Box systems. Worldwide there are now more than 400.000 systems installed.
“BYD stands for Build Your Dreams. Our company’s vision and goal is providing zero-emission energy solutions that reduce global reliance on fossil fuels”, explains AD Huang, Head of the BYD Battery-Box Business. “Our long heritage in battery development is not only driving our green mobility business divisions but has also been the basis for the success of our flagship energy storage system BYD Battery-Box. Together with our partners we work on the common goal to make renewable energy even more accessible and usable for a wide variety of application scenarios.”
“BePartners” – Joining forces for a common goal
The BYD Battery-Box partners play an integral role in the market adoption of the solution and thereby in reaching the goals on the way to a greener future. The BYDs therefore further expanding the partner program “Be Partner” for installers as well as additional partner activities with the system partners.
Registered participants of the “Be Partner” program profit from bonus points for installations of the Battery-Box Premium systems. After registration of the projects, bonus points can be used to receive benefits such as marketing packages, products, chargers, etc. The total number of points can also elevate an installers’ status level to receive even more corresponding benefits.
Present at The Smarter E and other major industry events
After the success of the 2022 in-person events – e.g. the Battery-Box Days events series – across the globe, the team will continue the program in 2023. These offline events are typically arranged by the regional BYD and a partner company and includes information on the latest Battery-Box models, new features, application examples, installation tips and the option for an exchange and networking with technology and installation experts. The events complement the many online trainings and webinars, BYD and partners arrange throughout the year.
In addition to these dedicated events, partners and customers will have the opportunity to meet the Battery-Box teams at even more industry events such as InterSolutions, Genera, ENEX, The Smarter E (Intersolar/EES), Solar Solutions Amsterdam and Dusseldorf, Key Energy, Middle East Energy Dubai, The Solar Show Africa Johannesburg, Smart Energy Sydney, All Energy Melbourne and Solar Power International.
