According to the company, this is the largest vertical bifacial rooftop solar system in the world. It was installed on an existing bitumen roof - the mechanical installation was completed in just a few days.
The system at Ulleval Stadium comprises 1242 vertical solar units with an output of 200 W, positioned to exploit the full potential of the sun's rays. This installation is estimated to generate 219,000 kWh of clean energy per year.
Analysis of Over Easy Solar's pilot projects shows that vertical solar panels can achieve a 20-30% higher specific yield than conventional flat roof solutions. The solar panels in this installation are mounted in a general south-north orientation (20 degrees east of south), which allows for energy distribution with a higher energy yield in the winter months. Vertical solar panels also perform better in winter as they cover less snow and generate more energy due to the high albedo of the snow.

Other important advantages appreciated by customers are the low weight of the system and easy access to the roof for inspections and local repairs to the roof cladding. (hcn)
