Solarduck from Rotterdam installed the system

In July, the Dutch-Norwegian company Solarduck, headquartered in Rotterdam, installed the offshore solar system. The Merganser pilot project is uncharted territory for everyone involved. RWE supports the project

The energy group RWE is supporting the pilot project with its technical expertise. This is because floating solar plants, alone or in combination with offshore wind farms, open up new opportunities for generating green electricity at sea. ‘Especially for countries with lower average wind speeds but a lot of solar radiation,’ explains Sven Utermöhlen, Managing Director at RWE Offshore Wind.
