PV rooftop installation on Westin Hotel in St. Maarten last week after Hurricane Irma (category 5).

Nearly 90 percent of a 900 kW PV rooftop installation on Caribbean island St. Maarten withstood Hurricane Irma. The array was installed with an injection molded ballasted racking system on Westin Hotel.

The injection molded Fast Rack 510 of Sollega withstood 190 mph sustained (Category 5) winds of Hurricane Irma. Nearly 90% of the 900 kW array on the Westin Hotel in St. Maarten (Netherland Antilles) are still attached to the racking and on the roof. The array was installed using Sollega's patented FR510 ballasted/hybrid racking system. The fully adhered single ply membrane roof utilized a combination of heat weld mechanical anchors and ballast block. “Our hopes and prayers go out to all the people effected by this horrific event”, Elie Rothschild from Sollega said.
