Portugal is a key market for the company. R.Power already operates a portfolio of around 50 MW in Portugal. It consists of eight photovoltaic plants in Terena, Serta, Mosteiros, Tremes, Alhais, Elvas, Macao and Arada. Together, these plants generate around 100 GWh of solar power per year. The company plans to commission further projects with a capacity of 10 MWp in Lagos and Portimão by the end of the first quarter of 2025. This will increase annual solar power generation by a further 20 GWh.

In 2025, R.Power will begin construction of three new projects in Paiao, Feira and Trancoso, which will have a total capacity of 43 MW and generate 80 GWh of energy per year.

At the same time, the company plans to further develop large battery storage systems (BESS) and invest in the wind energy sector to support the energy transition in the region. ‘In Spain, we are starting to build projects with a capacity of 23 MW, which will generate over 45 GWh per year,’ adds Pięta.
