The Puerto Real 3 solar park covers an area of 130 hectares, on which more than 88,000 solar modules have been installed. The Swiss-based energy company MET Group had already acquired a full stake in the ready-to-build solar project in 2022. The Andalusia region is known for its high levels of solar radiation.
Green energy plants with 400 megawatts in operation
According to MET, the plant itself is state of the art and has an expected lifespan of at least 30 years. "The Green Assets Division of MET Group focuses in particular on solar and wind energy in Europe," says Christian Hürlimann, CEO Renewables at MET Group. The energy company currently operates six solar parks in Hungary and two wind parks in Bulgaria. Further projects are under development or already under construction in Italy, Germany, Romania, Poland and Switzerland.
