Ampyr Solar Europe has announced the development of a 96 MWp solar plant in Noordoostpolder, The Netherlands, expected to be operational by June 2025. The plant will provide renewable energy to 30,000 homes and reduce carbon emissions by over 36,000 tonnes annually. It will span 65 hectares along a 3.9 km dyke near the IJsselmeer. This project marks the third cluster of solar plants financed under Ampyr's €200 million multi-project funding facility with Rabobank, following operational plants in Echt-Susteren, Venray and Voorne aan Zee.

The NOP solar plant will consist of four separate parks, all connected to operate as a single energy production asset. Ampyr will also manage the grid connection to TenneT’s substation, with the solar plant integrating with existing wind and solar infrastructure in the region. When completed, the combined solar and wind capacity from all developers will total 850 MWp, making it the largest complex of its kind in the Netherlands.

The project involved close cooperation with over 30 landowners, other solar developers, and the local wind farm operator, highlighting its complexity. Ampyr Solar Europe is rapidly expanding its portfolio, with over 130 MWp of renewable energy capacity in the Netherlands and a broader pipeline of nearly 1.5 GWp in the country. Its European pipeline now stands at almost 8 GWp, underlining the company’s role in advancing the renewable energy transition. (mfo)
